HR Generalist — Recruiting & Employee Lifecycle

About the role

PennEngineering is growing in Mexico, and our hiring has grown with it. We are looking for an HR Generalist who can own recruiting end to end — from high-volume operator hiring for production to professional and administrative searches across our brands — and who can also manage the employee lifecycle from offer through onboarding and payroll input.

This is not a coordination role. You will be the person who builds the market analysis behind a salary proposal, sits with a hiring manager to define what profile is realistic for the budget available, and holds the process to a timeline. If you have been doing that work without the title, this is the role where it becomes the job.

What you will do

Operator and direct recruiting (production)

• Manage requisitions and authorizations against weekly production hiring requirements
• Design and publish job postings across digital channels; manage inbound candidate flow through social media and WhatsApp
• Run screening, interviews, testing, supervisor interviews, and medical exam coordination
• Validate acceptance criteria, transportation routes, and new hire documentation
• Prepare new hire kits and schedule induction

Administrative and professional recruiting (plant and multi-brand)

• Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to define profile, scope, and realistic expectations for the approved budget
• Source and screen candidates; publish and manage searches on LinkedIn and job boards
• Run HR phone screens, including candidate expectations versus budget
• Coordinate first and second-round interviews, and drive feedback and decisions with hiring managers to keep cycles moving
• Build salary analysis and offer proposals, and prepare the authorization request
• Close offers and manage the transition to onboarding

Employee lifecycle and payroll support

• Integrate employee files and complete new hire registration
• Deliver onboarding: induction, policy acknowledgment, plant tour, and team introductions
• Enter payroll incidences (vacation, leaves, cafeteria, deductions)
• Maintain employee files and payroll documentation controls

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of recruiting experience, including administrative and professional positions — not only operational or high-volume hiring
• Experience recruiting in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Demonstrated ability to build a salary analysis and present an offer proposal for approval
• Comfort partnering with and pushing back on hiring managers to keep a process on schedule
• Working knowledge of the employee lifecycle in Mexico: IMSS registration, employee files, and payroll incidences
• LinkedIn Recruiter and job board sourcing experience
• Intermediate English — you will work with colleagues and stakeholders across the Americas

Nice to have

• Experience supporting more than one business unit or brand at the same time
• Familiarity with an ATS
• Exposure to compensation benchmarking or salary survey data
