Especialista Técnico (Lomas de Chapultepec)

The Technical Specialist is a member of the BD Technical Service and Support Organization, providing high‑level technical advice, consultation, and troubleshooting for internal and external customers. The role focuses on supporting products and instruments used in infectious disease diagnosis and industrial microbiology, answering and resolving calls, researching issues, and providing solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt and thorough responses to inquiries from internal and external customers, primarily received via telephone and written communication.
• Generate and maintain proper complaint documentation in compliance with FDA (21CFR) and ISO requirements.
• Coordinate with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Field personnel to assure timely follow‑up and resolution of all technical inquiries and product issues.
• Support the 24/7 Technical Service telephone line by providing emergency technical assistance during rotations of evening, weekend, and holiday on‑call coverage.
• Promote and ensure a culture of privacy and security related to PHI and HIPAA.
• Contribute to team goals and objectives through active participation.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Life Science required.
• Minimum 2years relevant experience in one of the following: clinical or reference microbiology laboratory, hospital or reference cytology laboratory, industrial microbiology laboratory (pharmaceutical environmental monitoring and/or food microbiology testing), or biotech/academic molecular laboratory.
• Effective communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Conversational English.
• Proficiency using MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent technical and problem‑solving skills of varying complexity.
• Self‑motivated and action‑oriented team player.
• Ability to multi‑task and adapt to changing business environments.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills, and a passion for providing superior service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP).
• Master of Science degree with a Molecular Biology focus.
• Experience with medical devices and equipment, especially BD equipment a plus.
