Database Engineer (Couchbase/OpenSearch)

Seeking a hands-on engineer with strong expertise in OpenSearch Couchbase and database administration combined with Python development skills to manage optimize and build scalable data/search platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with OpenSearch / Elasticsearch stack
• Hands-on expertise in Couchbase (NoSQL DB)
• Solid DBA fundamentals (performance tuning backup/recovery HA/DR)
• Proficiency in Python (automation APIs scripting)
• Experience with REST APIs data integration and distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• ADVANCED ENGLISH IS A MUST
• Hybrid role in any of our 4 locations in Mexico: Guadalajara, CDMX, Monterrey or Queretaro

Responsibilities

• Design implement and manage OpenSearch clusters (indexing search optimization performance tuning)
• Administer and support Couchbase databases (cluster setup replication backup/recovery scaling)
• Perform DBA activities including monitoring tuning capacity planning and troubleshooting
• Develop Python scripts/tools for automation data processing and system integration
• Optimize query performance indexing strategies and data models across platforms
• Ensure high availability security and data integrity of search and database systems
• Collaborate with application and data engineering teams on integration and performance improvements
