Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Process Engineer Wave Solder. This role is responsible for planning, designing, and testing tools, equipment, and manufacturing processes within the Wave Solder area. It is a technical role where decisions are made within the boundaries of established procedures and general practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily engineering support to operational areas for thermal processes, soldering, conformal coating dispensing, among others.
• Develop continuous improvement programs based on operational requirements, focusing on:
  • Machine cycle times
  • Process capability
  • FTQ
  • Error‑proofing devices
  • Operational availability
  • Quick model changeovers
  • Process‑related waste reduction
• Deliver training and documentation to ensure proper operation of machinery and equipment by responsible personnel.
• Participate in the installation of machinery and equipment, troubleshooting, and training for new manufacturing cells under their responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with plant standards and procedures (e.g., Safety, EOS).
• Support organizational and departmental objectives.
• Assist in meeting internal control requirements.
• Serve as an internal instructor for courses related to their manufacturing line.
• Safeguard machinery, equipment, resources, and budget assigned to their manufacturing line.
• Comply with applicable labor standards and regulations.

What We’re Looking For

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Schooling: Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering
• Experience: 2 to 4 years or more in a similar position
• Technical knowledge required:
  • IPC‑A610 standards
  • X‑ray inspection experience
  • Conformal coating experience
  • Pre/post soldering inspection
  • PTH Assembly and Soldering process knowledge
  • Manual assembly processes prior to soldering
  • Experience with Electrovert/Ersa and PVA equipment
• Other requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Travel Availability: Yes – Frequency: Trimestral
