Technical Lead - MEAN Stack (AI-Driven Application Modernization)

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of a modern MEAN Stack application.

Drive the modernization of an existing .NET-based application to a scalable JavaScript architecture.

Define technical architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.

Build and mentor the initial engineering squad.

Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Partner closely with local engineering SMEs in Mexico City and program leadership.

Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software engineering, code generation, documentation, testing, and modernization activities.

Perform architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical mentoring.

Ensure high-quality, secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

Support Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, technical estimation, and delivery planning.

Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies throughout the modernization effort.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

8+ years of software engineering experience.

3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or technical initiatives.

Strong hands-on experience with:

MongoDB

Express.js

Angular

Node.js

Strong understanding of REST APIs and Microservices architecture.

Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.

Experience designing scalable enterprise applications.

Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Fluent in English and Spanish.

Willingness to work primarily onsite in Mexico City.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience modernizing legacy .NET applications.

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Exposure to event-driven architecture and distributed systems.

Experience within the insurance, financial services, or automotive industries.

Familiarity with DevSecOps and infrastructure automation.

AI Experience (Highly Preferred)
