Your Role

As a  Senior Android Quality Engineer (SDET) at Capgemini , you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise mobile applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and sustaining scalable automation frameworks while driving quality engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

This role requires strong expertise in Android test automation, software engineering principles, CI/CD integration, and quality assurance methodologies. You will collaborate closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences while continuously improving automation capabilities and testing efficiency.

Responsibilities & Scope

• Design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions for Android mobile applications.
• Build and maintain mobile UI automation using  Espresso ,  Java , and  Kotlin .
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for applications built with  Jetpack Compose .
• Design and enhance automation frameworks with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Collaborate with leadership and engineering teams to identify opportunities for improving automation maturity and testing efficiency.
• Work across multiple platforms and teams to drive consistency and quality engineering best practices.
• Develop new automation frameworks and improve existing automation suites.
• Implement process improvements across development, testing, and automation execution.
• Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based testing solutions.
• Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of testing tools and technologies.
• Create proof-of-concept solutions to validate new automation approaches and frameworks.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and communicate test execution results, defects, and quality metrics.
• Develop and manage test data required for automation execution and validation activities.
• Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, and contribute to refactoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide recommendations on automation feasibility, coverage, and testing strategies.

Technical Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining automated testing solutions.
• Strong experience with object-oriented programming languages, including:
• Java
• Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with Android automation frameworks such as:
• Espresso
• Jetpack Compose Testing
• Experience creating automation solutions for:
• Unit Testing
• Functional Testing
• Integration Testing
• End-to-End Testing
• Strong understanding of software engineering concepts, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with version control and test management tools, including:
• GitHub
• Jira
• TestRail
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as:
• Jenkins
• Azure DevOps
• Familiarity with:
• Agile
• Scrum
• Kanban
• DevOps methodologies
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing scripts in Linux environments.
