New product development engineer

The NPD Mechanical Engineer drives the end-to-end development of high-performance residential & commercial HVAC solutions, transforming market requirements into innovative thermal-fluid systems. This role is responsible for the conceptualization, integration, and validation of advanced package and split-system technologies, ensuring a sustainable competitive advantage through technical excellence in refrigeration cycles, precision heat transfer, and system-level optimization.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

• Generates 3D models, drawings, rules and lists of materials for new designs and for maintaining existing ones using design software and product lifecycle management platforms keeping manufacturability and cost in mind.
• Translate product requirements into functional mechanical architectures for commercial water-chilling and AC package systems.
• Apply mastery of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics to optimize refrigerant circuitry and fin-tube heat transfer.
• Utilize CFD modeling and performance analysis tools to predict and validate system behavior under diverse environmental conditions.
• Ensure all designs meet or exceed global regulatory standards (AHRI 210/240, ASHRAE 37, DOE 430 M1 Appendix, etc).
• Execute "ruling-to-build" documentation and support sustaining engineering to improve reliability and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participates in projects of improvement on cost, product performance and component replacement to increase the company's competitive position using standardized value analysis and value engineering processes.
• Under supervision develops systems to calculate the performance of new products through the selection and sizing of their elements, the definition of interactions between them and the environment taking into account the inputs, outputs, and system limits.
• Search for technological improvements of products, components and industry trends through attendance at sector fairs, seminars and subscriptions to associations to promote the incorporation of technologies in products.
• For Packaging Development, supports design, tests, sustaining and improvement of packaging to keep integrity of HVAC products and their accessories during handling, storage and transportation from the production line to the end user.
• For Air handlers, supports the design & sustaining of manufacturable, reliable and feasible indoor air quality systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 1 year experience as NPD Mechanical HVAC industry
• Mechanical Engineer, Chemical or Mechatronics Engineer
• Proficiency with CREO for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
• English Profiency
• MS Office, and proficiency in technical drawing interpretation.
