Senior HSE Engineer-1622 (Tijuana)

Job Overview

As a Senior EHS Engineer, you will oversee and direct the organization’s health, safety and environmental engineering efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with environmental regulations and the implementation of best practices in engineering related safety.

Reporting

This role reports directly to the EHS leadership and is based in Tijuana on a full on site work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive EHS strategies that align with the organization’s mission and ensure a culture of safety, health and environmental responsibility.
• Ensure the organization complies with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations, permits and certifications.
• Develop and implement proactive safety measures, training and policies to prevent accidents, injuries and occupational illnesses in the workplace.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing engineering solutions and preventive measures.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for EHS related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
• Establish and enforce quality control standards in EHS engineering, conducting regular inspections and performance assessments.
• Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training and education on EHS matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in EHS engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and strategic planning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced engineering degree (EE, ME, etc.).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Passion for promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
