Cloud System Admin

Overview

This role supports the planning, design, implementation, configuration, and regular testing of business continuity and disaster recovery (BCP/DR) systems within the Insulet data environment, including virtual infrastructure, storage, backup and recovery, and connectivity. It also supports the maintenance of server and network backups and monitoring systems to alert on server and network issues. The position works closely with systems and networking teams to manage server and network connectivity and configuration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all systems are properly backed up and that restore testing is performed and logged.
• Maintain data backup infrastructure, configuration, and testing.
• Update and maintain DR processes and procedures.
• Maintain necessary documentation on systems and processes to ensure availability.
• Maintain/repair all infrastructure components in collaboration with vendors to provide 100% availability of service.
• Maintain redundancy status for all critical applications and verify business continuity for those applications.
• Administer full DR/BCP tests for specific applications and the infrastructure.
• Administer DR/BCP tests for customer-facing products and services.
• Complete after-hours testing and verification as required.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Task-oriented with strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and capable of staying current with new technology.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing work and problem resolution.
• Experience with data backups and data recovery procedures.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of Windows and Linux servers in a production data center environment.
• Understanding of networking technologies and their impact on servers and service delivery.
• Experience working in a medical device or FDA-validated environment is a plus.
• Experience and understanding of Azure and AWS environments (including cloud networking and IaaS) is a plus.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of systems or network administration.
• Experience maintaining IT infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with virtual infrastructure.
• Experience with iSCSI SAN is a plus (Pure).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills with internal customers.
• Ability to investigate, identify, and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities.

Note: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office at least three days per week (2-3 days per week stated in the original text).
