Business Intelligence Analyst - REMOTE (Ciudad de México)

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist with a focus on process automation. The role is responsible for transforming and preparing data, building reports and reproducible pipelines, and automating repetitive tasks using SQL, Excel, and Python. This position is NOT a Database Administrator (DBA) role nor a Data Scientist role focused on statistical modeling or machine learning – the emphasis is on BI, light data engineering, and automation to support business decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL).
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Automate data processes and pipelines using Python (ETL scripts, validations, integrations, etc.).
• Clean and prepare data in Excel and relational database environments for analysis and reporting.
• Document procedures, pipelines and data sources to ensure reproducibility.
• Work with business teams to translate requirements into actionable BI solutions.
• Ensure data quality and apply basic governance controls to managed processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 3‑4 years of experience in BI, analytics, or data engineering oriented to business intelligence.
• Advanced SQL skills (query optimisation, joins, window functions, subqueries).
• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables; Power Query / Power Pivot if applicable).
• Practical experience using Python for process automation (pandas, ETL scripts, file / API handling).
• Ability to translate business needs into data‑driven reports and solutions.
• Experience with visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc.
• Knowledge of data warehouses, dimensional modelling and ETL concepts.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative workflow.
• Basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or orchestration tools (Airflow).
• Participation in impactful BI projects and process improvement initiatives.
