Accounting Analyst

Opportunity

Flexport has an immediate opening for an Accounting Analyst to join our Finance team. Finance plays a central role in our success by creating transparency of the company's performance, financials, risks, and internal controls, and building the people, process, and product needed for the future of Flexport. We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Analyst with a mission to recommend and drive new initiatives and support our fast-growing organization. As an Accounting Analyst, you will have the opportunity to build personalized relationships with key stakeholders across multiple functional departments within our dynamic finance organization. Your innovative ideas and results-oriented approach will be essential to our continued success, and you will play a critical role in driving improvement and innovation as we grow.

You will

• Record and maintain journal entries (“JEs”) to ensure accuracy in the general ledger
• Collaborate with Operations and AP teams to ensure data accuracy and monthly accruals
• Key contributor in the monthly close processes for accounting team by preparing journal entries and reconciliations
• Update and maintain the company's accounting Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) for assigned areas, ensuring compliance with evolving business processes and accounting standards
• Assist with prepaid schedules, and maintain assigned balance sheet accounts accuracy
• Assist with lease schedules and support JE generations
• Assist with Treasury team on payments initiations and processing
• Support variance analysis and provide commentary on P&L movements
• Help identify process improvements that streamline month-end closing and reporting processes, maximizing efficiency and accuracy, and support automation initiatives

You should have

• Strong business level English
• Bachelor's Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of working experience in public accounting (preferably Big 4) and/or in an accounting function with strong understanding of accounting
• High attention to detail and problem-solving ability with a keen focus on continuous improvement
• Prioritization skills and the ability to execute on deliverables in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
• A willingness to embrace and drive changes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong Excel skills
