Job Summary

Responsible for working with hosting service providers for SAP Basis activities, including environment patching and upgrades for SAP middleware (Process Orchestration / CPI). The role reports to the Gates ERP Technical Services lead in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with integration vendors and implementation partners to develop SAP interfaces.
• Develop and manage interface standards for SAP integration development.
• Support SAP PI/PO/CPI integration to deliver secure and reliable performance across the SAP middleware ecosystem, including SAP S/4HANA, Process Orchestration, Cloud Process Integration, SAP Fiori, SAP GTS, and Solution Manager.
• Assist in development and QA of integration solutions using SAP PI/PO, SDI (Smart Data Integration), and SAP CPI.
• Administer SAP PO/CPI installations, parameter updates, and upgrades in collaboration with hosting providers.
• Manage SLDs and transport promotion through the CTS+.
• Maintain system health, system performance, and the service registry.
• Configure integrations for new third‑party adapters.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 production support, and coordinate production migration of integration fixes and enhancements.

Qualifications

• Experience with integration of SAP, non‑SAP, external (B2B), and cloud (C2C) systems using SAP PI/PO and SAP CPI, including standard adapters such as File, SFTP, SOAP, JDBC, RFC, and IDOC.
• Exposure to EDI software and a solid understanding of EDI maps and transactions.
• Experience with component‑based message alerting and the Application Integration Framework (AIF).
• Proficiency in developing mappings in Graphical, Java, XSLT, and ABAP formats.
• Knowledge of configuring adapters (File, FTP, SFTP, PROXY, IDOC, SOAP, JDBC) with SAP PI/PO.
• Experience working in an outsourced or managed services environment with a blend of onshore and offshore resources.
• Minimum of one implementation project; experience with SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
• Ability to analyze ‘as‑is’ and ‘to‑be’ technical architectures, build integration topology, and develop canonical interfaces.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• More than 5 years of experience implementing and supporting large and complex SAP enterprise environments, with at least 2 years of integration experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Proficiency in configuring, developing, and implementing SAP integration solutions in PI/PO 7.X or CPI, including service repository, integration directory, data mappings, EDI, XML communications, proxies, interface definitions, and XSDs.
• Strong background in ABAP enhancements, ABAP proxies, RFC, IDOC, CXML, ALE configuration, partner profiles, and ports.
• Experience working with outsourced partners for technical implementation, support, maintenance, and system administration.
• Optional: SAP PI/PO/CPI certification.
• Working experience in SAP Business Application Studio.
