Generator Services Itr Applications Engineer (Santiago de Querétaro)

Job Description Summary

The Applications Engineer will act as the technical focal point for Conversions, Modification and Uprates (CM&Us;) Services projects throughout the lifecycle starting from customer inquiry to hand over to Requisitions (R3). The main focus (not limited to) will be the installed fleet in America’s region (both L-GE and L-TS). In the application engineering capacity, before a customer order is received, the Applications Engineer will develop technical solutions for Conversions, Modifications and Uprates (CM&Us;) such as stator and rotor rewinds, replacement fields, and other upgrades. The application engineer is the key technical stakeholder for sales opportunities. The ITR Engineer will generate technically convincing proposals to meeting customer expectations by interfacing actively with Engineering, Supply Chain, Field and Fleet Services, Sales and Project management.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for successful execution of the engineering and related downstream activities for the overall CM&Us; order/project.
• Examples of CMU Projects include Stator Rewinds, Replacement Fields, Field Rewinds, Exchange Rotors, and full Generator Replacements.
• Utilize standardized tools and process to set up project structure within different GE systems.
• Provide appropriate solutions to developing technical issues arising during generator CM&U; project.
• Keep attention to the overall project schedule and budgeted hours.
• Address and correct deviations as they arise.
• Support other team members both domestically and globally.
• Provide timely and accurate responses to technical inquiries using technical files (such as Design Data, Previous Reports, etc.), personal experience/knowledge and information from other technical experts as necessary.
• Complete project closeout activities including gathering feedback and data to support continuous improvement.
• Lead process improvement projects when assigned.
• Engage in continuing education/training using resources provided.
• Support customer meetings, State of the Art Conferences, GE and Industry conferences when requested.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
• 6 years of experience or advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Customer Project Engineering space comparable to a bachelor's degree).
• At least 2 years experience in either heavy duty gas turbine/steam turbine generator technology or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge in HD Generators Technology.
