Amentum is seeking a NGIS Housekeeper to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. TheNGIS Housekeeperis tasked with maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of Navy Gateway Inns and Suites facilities in accordance with established standards. This position requires proper training and certification, attention to detail, and adherence to operational guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cleaning guest rooms, common areas, and other NGIS facilities according to the most currentHousekeeper and Custodial Certification Manual.
• Performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, removing trash, and disinfecting surfaces to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Restocking room amenities such as linens, toiletries, and supplies, ensuring a consistent guest experience.
• Monitoring and identifying areas requiring special attention or additional deep cleaning.
• Maintainingcertification from a NEXCOM NGIS Certified Housekeeper Trainerto demonstrate proficiency in all housekeeping standards.
• Staying up to date with training requirements and operational standards to meet the most current NGIS housekeeping guidelines.
• Adhering to procedures for housekeeping in compliance with Navy standards and safety protocols to ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Reporting maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damages promptly to supervisors for resolution.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor and providing courteous service when interacting with guests or coworkers.
• Properly using and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies in accordance with training guidelines.
• Informing supervisors of low supply levels or equipment issues to prevent disruptions in operation.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

• Certification as a NGIS Housekeeper, obtained through training by aNEXCOM NGIS Certified Housekeeper Trainer.
• Knowledge of and adherence to housekeeping standards outlined in theHousekeeper and Custodial Certification Manual.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and instructions for cleaning tasks and safety protocols.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to complete required cleaning duties efficiently.
• Basic communication skills to report issues, interact with guests, and communicate effectively with team members.
• Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for the duration of deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in housekeeping, custodial services, or a hospitality environment, particularly in a hotel or similar setting.
• Familiarity with Navy or Department of Defense lodging standards and protocols.
• Knowledge of handling and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools.
• Experience in an austereOCONUS (Outside the Continental United States)environment with a multi-national workforce.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
