Logistics Engineering Team Lead

Job Objective

Direct, manage and coordinate the logistics engineering team. Supervising and executing the design, implementation, optimization and training of medium complexity plant related material‑and information flow projects, processes and concepts along the supply chain considering a total cost approach.

Duties and Responsibilities

A Logistics process optimization

1. Execute the design and optimization of medium complexity logistics processes along the supply chain in agreement with the superior responsible based on given targets.
2. Support the budget planning process in logistics.
3. Execute the optimization and simplification of medium complexity material flow concepts and processes for successful application as well as system improvement of SAP logistics modules.
4. Supervise packaging planning within medium complexity supply chains incl. the supervision of the development of best practice packaging engineering solutions (concepts and processes).
5. Safeguard the appropriate execution of logistics ramp‑ups and engineering changes during the product lifecycle according to corporate standards incl. escalation management and coordination with other functions.
6. Direct and manage the continuous improvement in all logistics material‑and information flow processes along the supply chain according to costs, quality and customer requirements.
7. Execute the creation and negotiation of logistics offers with customers, suppliers and service providers.

B IT processes, tools and interfaces

1. Supervise and execute the description of medium complexity target process specifications for linking material flow concepts with the connected information flows.
2. Preparing methods, policies and tools for the optimization of planning processes inside the logistics engineering team and tracking of key performance indicators in agreement with the superior responsible.
3. Identify, drive and manage the selection and optimization of logistics infrastructure, equipment, packaging concepts and IT solutions.

C Project management

1. Supervise and execute the management of medium complexity logistics projects from technical and organizational perspective along the supply chain and product lifecycle.
2. Defining, planning, coordinating and monitoring of medium complexity projects for the area of responsibility incl. responsible for internal and external personnel capacity planning.
3. Definition and continuous monitoring of project success regarding time, budget and output quality and driving execution of defined actions.
4. Negotiating general logistics conditions with suppliers, service providers and customers (e.g. JIT/JIS processes, turnaround periods, packaging).
5. Aligning all ongoing projects and activities with relevant business processes owners and functions.
6. Execution of problem solving and escalation for occurring deviations.
7. Support and contribute on overarching activities and initiatives.

D Leadership

1. Deploying employees corresponding to their qualifications within the relevant structure. Instructing and supporting employees in a target‑oriented and motivating manner to fulfil the tasks.
2. Guiding, instructing and supporting employees in function‑related tasks.
3. Participating in hiring process and responsible to sustain the team performance and evaluation as well as qualification demands.

Your Qualifications

• Leadership skills and experience.
• SAP experience or other ERP.
• English advanced.
