Venue Manager Role Overview
OL is seeking to appoint an in-market Venue Manager to act as the day-to-day point of contact for Palco and Platea Hospitality. This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of services, including:
- Managing vendors that provide host/hostess access control/security, catering services, furniture, florals, entertainment, cleaning, waste management, gifting, wristbands, uniforms, and other small design elements.
- Producing interior environmental design elements and providing oversight on the menu development process and catering service levels.
- Overseeing the environmental design of hospitality spaces.
- Training and managing all contracted staff to support the Stadium Hospitality Products, including catering staff, guest experience staff, host/hostess, and access control/security personnel.
- Developing documentation to guide operations in the lead-up to and during each match.
- Supporting the build of a system to credential guests for access to hospitality spaces within applicable Stadium Hospitality Products.
- Providing customer support for hospitality customers.
- Being part of the OL management team that advises on product inclusions, guest experience details, and marketing strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the project management efforts, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
- Establish and nurture relationships with venue owners, operators, and event contractors, fostering effective collaboration and partnership.
- Establish and nurture relationships with Palco and Platea customers as required.
- Build and manage a small, effective team to deliver hospitality outcomes.
- Assist with planning site visits for internal and external stakeholders and coordinate venue-related meetings.
- Support coordination, scheduling, and material preparation for cross-functional venue operational planning.
- Monitor key dates, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring timely progress and adherence to timelines.
- Assist with budget development, tracking, and analysis in line with financial objectives.
- Support the preparation and delivery of internal reporting and status tracking across various venue-related workstreams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in related roles within the sports, venue, and/or event management industry, working on major events, venue operations, or event production.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and executing events of varying sizes and complexities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think critically to resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent bilingual (English and Spanish) verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple large‑scale tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Working knowledge of Smartsheet preferred.
- Strong team‑building and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
