Role Description This is a full-time, remote role that combines business development with AI data model architecture to drive the growth and technical foundation of FarmIT+DirectTrade. The individual in this role will identify and qualify new business opportunities, build relationships with agricultural producers and buyers, and develop strategic partnerships that expand the platform’s reach. On a day-to-day basis, this role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand data needs, translate business requirements into scalable data models, and design solutions that support AI and analytics use cases. Responsibilities include defining data strategies for new products, working with engineering teams on data pipelines and warehousing, and establishing governance practices that ensure data quality, security, and compliance. The role will also involve preparing proposals, pitch materials, and product demonstrations, as well as gathering market feedback to refine both commercial and data architecture roadmaps.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Data Architecture and Data Modeling, with experience designing scalable schemas that support analytics and AI workloads.
- Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and Data Warehousing, including working with modern data platforms or cloud-based data stacks.
- Knowledge of Data Governance practices, including data quality, security, privacy, and lifecycle management in a production environment.
- Experience in business development, partnership management, or sales for technology or data-driven products, ideally in agriculture, supply chain, or related sectors.
- Ability to translate business and market requirements into technical data solutions, working closely with engineering, product, and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently in a fully remote, distributed team.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, data pipelines, and API-based integrations is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
