Job purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven ” individual to join as a Product Technician In this role, the main responsibilities include providing technical product support to the Operations team for current production and new program launches. Additionally, the position supports the customer complaint response team regarding product behaviour and electrical or mechanical design issues. The role requires independent judgment but may receive direct guidance from the engineer. It also supports the ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) audit program

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development of new machines and equipment.
• Support the implementation of changes, evaluations, and validations affecting product content.
• Identify root causes and corrective actions related to product quality and performance.
• Assist in quality improvement initiatives, cost-saving efforts, and waste reduction projects, ensuring proper documentation.
• Document, review, identify, and share known failure modes.
• Responsible for installation, maintenance, and calibration of lab and production line bench equipment.
• Address diagnostic process needs for current and new production lines.
• Maintain knowledge of product specifications.
• Assist production line diagnostic technicians with complex failure modes.
• Attend production meetings.
• Collaborate in MRB for disposition of substitute material/processes (MR & MRVA).
• Conduct product analysis for customer complaints and document findings and root cause at the product level.
• Train product/diagnostic technicians on new product configurations, specifications, performance, and failure analysis equipment.
• Complete all mandatory training on time.
• Evaluate needs for new equipment.

What we’re looking for

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Schooling : Incomplete degree or similar in Electronics, Electromechanics, or related
• Experience Time in similar position : 2 years or more in a similar position.
• Technical knowledge required : knowledge of electronics, microprocessors, and mechanical assemblies, Use of measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, computers), interpretation of electrical/electronic diagram

• Other requirements : Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, problem-solving skills
