Implementation Consultant (SAP VIM-WCM Solutions)

Location: Remote Home Office (Mexico, Canada, Central America, South America) (US hours required)

Reports to: Practice Manager - Invoice to Pay Solutions

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP VIM / P2P / Invoice Management consultant with strong end-to-end solution implementation experience, ideally someone who is interested in expanding into SAP Working Capital Management solutions.

This role is primarily focused on client delivery and implementation activities, supporting organizations in optimizing working capital processes across Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Treasury functions. The consultant will work closely with clients to design, configure, test, and deploy an SAP add-on co-developed in collaboration with a leading financial institution. This solution enables seamless integration between SAP and external SCF and DD platforms, supporting end-to-end financial processes.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of SAP finance and procurement processes, hands-on implementation experience, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Delivery & Implementation

• Lead and facilitate functional design workshops with stakeholders across Finance (Accounts Payable), Procurement, and Treasury.

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Working Capital Management solutions, like Supply Chain Finance and Dynamic Discounting.

• Design and implement SAP-based solutions supporting financial supply chain processes and supplier financing programs.

• Configure the SAP add-on in alignment with client-specific business requirements and industry’s best practices.

• Prepare and maintain functional documentation (process flows, configuration specs, test scenarios).

• Design and execute unit and integration testing strategies, ensuring end-to-end process validation.

• Coordinate defect resolution with technical teams and ensure timely issue closure.

• Support and guide clients through User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning, execution, and validation.

• Assist in cutover activities, go-live support, and hypercare stabilization.

2. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key functional point of contact for clients and internal delivery teams.

• Translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP solutions and communicate effectively with technical teams. 

• Communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Treasury, and IT organizations.

• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle. 

• Collaborate closely with SAP functional consultants, developers, integration teams, and external partners.

• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, methodology improvements, and delivery best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Experience

• 8-10+ years of experience in SAP consulting, with a strong focus on Finance and/or Procure-to-Pay domains.

• Proven experience participating in end-to-end SAP implementations, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and deployment activities. 

• Hands-on experience working with Accounts Payable processes and exposure to Procurement and/or Treasury functions.

• Experience in Working Capital optimization initiatives, financial process transformation, or related consulting engagements.

• Exposure to Supply Chain Finance (SCF) and/or Dynamic Discounting (DD) solutions is highly desirable.

• Experience working in client-facing roles within consulting environments, including workshop facilitation and stakeholder management.

Functional & SAP Expertise

• Strong understanding of SAP FI (with emphasis on Accounts Payable) and MM (Procurement) processes.

• Solid knowledge of end-to-end financial supply chain processes, including invoice lifecycle, payment execution, and supplier interactions.

• Understanding of Working Capital drivers such as DPO, cash flow optimization, and liquidity management.

• Familiarity with integration concepts between SAP and external platforms (e.g., APIs, IDocs, middleware).

• Experience supporting or participating in SAP S/4HANA projects or transformations is a plus. 

Technical Knowledge

• Experience supporting testing cycles (unit testing, integration, UAT, regression testing) and defect resolution processes.

• Understanding system integration architecture and data flows across SAP and external solutions is a plus.

Education and Certifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

• SAP certifications in FI, MM, or S/4HANA are preferred.

• Additional certifications or training in Treasury, Working Capital Management, or Supply Chain Finance are a plus.

Nice to Have (Differentiators)

• Basic to intermediate understanding of ABAP, including the ability to read code, support debugging, and collaborate effectively with developers. 

• Exposure to SAP enhancements, user exits, BAdIs, or custom developments is a plus. 

• Experience working with financial institutions, fintech platforms, or SCF providers. 

• Exposure to Dynamic Discounting platforms or supplier financing solutions. 

• Understanding of Treasury processes such as cash management, payment strategies, or liquidity planning. 

• Experience working in global or multi-country SAP environments.
