Description

Manager, Development Engineer
Key resource for the coordination and execution of development programs/projects related with one of the following categories: a) new processes, b) new equipment, or c) new product design features, in all cases aligned with the Company technology roadmap supporting the qualification and release to high volume assembly manufacturing in our SKWS Mexicali facility

Specific job assignments:
- Will administrate and manage the tactical activities of each one of the development programs or projects related to his functional area of responsibility, utilizing available engineering resources or procuring the allocation of production resources to drive achievement of project deliverables and milestones
- Will assume ownership of the complete qualification, transference & integration into high volume manufacturing of the new technology projects (process/equipment/raw material or a combination) meeting or exceeding the established timeline from the organization
- Responsible to complete the full characterization of the defined success criteria of the new technology project by analyzing the performance of input and output process variables & product features and validate its alignment to the best-known practices for high volume manufacturing or develop the alternate controls required to adopt the new elements with minimum disruption 
- Lead the procurement specification creation for new equipment related with new technology and work jointly with process, equipment, operations, industrial engineering, quality, information technologies and purchasing departments to fulfill all the established functional and specific operational and safety requirements of the new equipment required to deploy the first time buy event. 
- Establishes direct technical communication with our raw material suppliers to drive processing or quality improvements as required, also established communication with our equipment manufacturing suppliers to procure design modifications for improvements or fabrication of new tooling required to process new form factors associated to new product introductions. 
- Drives the evaluation and definition of the process capabilities on his assigned area of responsibility, and work together with Irvine, packaging function to develop test vehicles and conduct experimental activities to establish new design rules for manufacturing required by our technology roadmap.
-Technical Lead for identifying and resolving manufacturing or quality related problems potentially impacting our processes or products and facilitating installation of corrective actions and best-known practices as applicable on each case.
- Will interact with multidisciplinary functions, externally with Packaging, Product Engineering and Program Management through the New Product realization process (Prototyping & NPI’s) as well as internally with Quality, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Materials and all functions in our organization during the execution and implementation of his specific assignments and projects

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsibilities include directing, leading and managing the technical activities in one or more engineering disciplines (mechanical, software, packaging, electrical, reliability, systems, applications, or process engineering). Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Required Experience and Skills

Requirements:
• Electronic, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Industrial or related Engineer degree BS, MS degree is desirable
• 6-8 years minimum experience on electronic manufacturing processes, semiconductor manufacturing is preferred like: SMT, Backgrinding, Dicing Saw, Laser Dicing, WLCSP-TNR, Die Attach, Wire Bond, Moldeo, Singulado, EMI Package Shielding or similar electronic assembly processes.
• Planning and Project Management skills required
• Very good skills for executive presentations and clear communication
• Proven negotiation and emotional intelligence skills required 
• Must be bilingual (Spanish/English), able to fluently communicate ideas & projects updates
• Proven experience in Statistical Analysis & Design of Experiments
• Experience with Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis and Six Sigma or similar methodology.
• Experience with raw material and manufacturing supplier’s: with development and qualification of raw materials for assembly processes
• Experience with equipment manufacturing supplier’s: with procurement specification elaboration, design improvements, buyoff execution and integration/transference to mass production environment as well as design and qualification of equipment tooling required to support processing of new products/form factors
