AI Automation Engineer - AI:ZA

This is a remote position.

AI:ZA is seeking a hands-on AI Automation Engineer to design, build, and deploy practical AI solutions for real business operations.

The initial mission is to work directly with BPO Lab teams supporting Toll International, identify repetitive and labor-intensive workflows, and convert them into reliable AI-enabled processes.

This is a builder role for someone who can understand how a business process works, determine where AI and automation can create value, and independently implement a working production solution.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and map existing business processes, including inputs, decisions, exceptions, and outputs.
  

• Design and deploy AI agents and automated workflows.
  

• Integrate AI with Zoho One and other business applications.
  

• Build workflows using n8n, Make, Power Automate, or similar automation platforms.
  

• Develop integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and OAuth.
  

• Use Python, JavaScript, and/or Zoho Deluge when custom development is required.
  

• Develop document-intelligence workflows for resumes, RFPs, invoices, emails, contracts, and other business documents.
  

• Implement retrieval and RAG solutions where appropriate.
  

• Build human-in-the-loop approvals and exception-management workflows.
  

• Test, monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve deployed automations.
  

• Document workflows, architecture, prompts, integrations, and operating requirements.
  

• Measure labor hours saved, processing-time improvements, quality improvements, and automation ROI.

• Recruiting and candidate management
  

• Finance, invoicing, and administrative workflows
  

• CRM and business development
  

• Proposal and RFP development
  

• HR and employee administration
  

• Executive and operational reporting
  

• Zoho One workflow automation
  

The successful candidate will help AI:ZA progressively transform repeatable human workflows into scalable, reliable, AI-enabled business processes.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI automations, AI agents, workflow automations, integrations, or software solutions .
  

• Practical experience working with LLMs and generative AI , including OpenAI or comparable platforms.
  

• Strong working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and system integrations .
  

• Experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or Zoho Deluge .
  

• Experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Power Automate, or equivalent tools .
  

• Familiarity with Zoho One applications and APIs, or the ability to become proficient quickly.
  

• Understanding of RAG, document retrieval, structured data, databases, and AI-enabled document processing .
  

• Ability to analyze a manual business process and independently convert it into a reliable automated workflow.
  

• Ability to design human-in-the-loop approvals, exception handling, validation, and monitoring .
  

• Strong troubleshooting, testing, and documentation skills.
  

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical team members.
  

• Strong written and spoken English .
  

• Ability to work remotely and collaborate with teams supporting U.S. business operations.
  

• Must reside in Mexico .
  

Preferred

• 3–7 years of relevant technical experience.
  

• Experience automating workflows involving recruiting, finance, CRM, proposals, HR, reporting, or professional-services operations .
  

• Experience integrating Zoho One, Microsoft 365, accounting systems, CRM platforms, and AI services .
  

• Portfolio, GitHub repository, case study, or other examples demonstrating automations, AI agents, integrations, or software solutions personally developed.
  

Demonstrated implementation ability is more important than years of experience or academic credentials.
