Finance & Accounting Senior Associate

Reporting to Group Finance and CFO functions in Bulgaria, the Financial Controller is the key local finance role responsible for the financial integrity and compliance of the entity. You will be a trusted point of contact for banks, accountants, auditors, and tax advisors. The role spans four areas: oversight of the external accounting and quality of the books; supervision of all tax compliance; liquidity management and budgeting and financial planning. Accounting

• Serves as primary point of contact with the external accounting firm. Owns the company's accounting policies - deciding how transactions should be treated under Mexican FRS, ensuring the external accountant applies them consistently, and updating policies when the business or regulations change. Designs and maintains controls over the accounting process - approval workflows, reconciliations across systems and partners, document retention.
• Supervises the organization of accounting records, invoices, contracts, and supporting documentation
• Tax & Compliance
• Supervises the company's tax compliance calendar - ISR, IVA, DIOT, DIM Anexo 9, PTU, payroll taxes and is responsible for ensuring deadlines are met.
• Ensures the accounting records support the tax returns and that book-to-tax differences are documented and understood
• Monitors the company's running tax position throughout the year - estimated ISR payments, IVA credit/debit balances, and any carry-forward losses and translates these into cashflow impact
• Budgeting and other
• Participates in the annual budgeting process - translating operational plans into financial projections, coordinating input from different functions.
• budget throughout the year, identifies and explains variances.
• Manages various financial projects: coordinate timelines, follow up on deliverables, and ensure all parties meet deadlines and obligations.

• Contador Público Certificado or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles
• Background in fintech, financial services or debt collection will be considered an advantage.
• Solid understanding of Mexican FRS and tax legislation
• Fluent in English (written and spoken). Able to communicate and report to senior management in English
