About the role** As an **Embedded Software Engineer**, you will be part of a global engineering team developing advanced embedded control solutions for Carrier’s products. This role plays a key part in designing and developing firmware that integrates embedded systems with cloud, mobile, and IoT technologies to deliver innovative solutions. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:* Developing embedded software for Carrier’s equipment and refrigeration control systems* Designing and implementing firmware solutions for embedded platforms* Collaborating with cross-functional teams including systems, hardware, validation, and manufacturing* Participating in Agile software development processes* Leading or supporting development projects and technical initiatives* Developing prototype and test software for validation purposes* Writing software specifications and test plans* Participating in design reviews, code inspections, and risk analysis activities* Supporting system integration and ensuring compliance with requirements* Balancing responsibilities between sustaining and new product development projects**Requirements** We are looking for people who are innovative, detail-oriented, and passionate about embedded systems and technology development. As a minimum you must have:* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field* Minimum 5+ years of experience in embedded software development* Strong programming skills in C and/or C++* Experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)* Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485)* Experience in software architecture, debugging, and design patterns* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities**Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:*** Experience with connectivity protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave)* Experience with Embedded Linux* Experience with ARM microcontrollers* Knowledge of configuration and version control systems (e.g., GitHub)* Experience with Model-Based Development (IBM Rhapsody, MATLAB/Stateflow)* Experience in HVAC or refrigeration systems**Benefits** We are committed to offering competitive benefits programs for all of our employees, and enhancing our programs when necessary.
