Product Development Engineer. (Ciudad Apodaca)

Overview

The main objective of this role is to lead innovation projects for Mexico and LATAM region across technical stages that include idea generation and product design to meet consumer needs with innovative and consumer‑centric products, also coordinating and supporting scale‑up trials in pilot and industrial plants. The role also is responsible for productivity, brand stewardship and portfolio transformation initiatives that include sodium, sugar and saturated fat reduction in the LATAM sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead the innovation process from idea generation to product launch, including laboratory and pilot plant prototyping, ingredient screening, sensory and consumer trials, ensuring regulatory, nutrition, and food safety compliance, and supporting scale‑up at industrial plants.
• Drive brand quality initiatives and participate in productivity projects to maintain and improve core and new products.
• Collaborate with regional and integral R&D teams and cross‑functional departments, including Nutrition, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and external vendors.
• Support the R&D team in achieving both short‑ and long‑term goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years in Research and Development, ideally in food product development from concept to plant scale, with a results‑oriented and proactive mindset.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and networking abilities to work effectively across cross‑functional teams and with external partners.
• Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn, explore new trends, ingredients, and technologies, with a self‑driven approach to delivering projects.
• Fluent in English (oral and written) and available to travel.
