Job Description: L1 Search Evaluator

Location: Masaryk, Polanco, Mexico City, Mexico (Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time (FTE)

Working Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM (8 working hours + 30-minute break)

Role Overview

The L1 Search Evaluator serves as a frontline specialist responsible for evaluating search quality, investigating user feedback, and supporting the continuous improvement of search algorithms and products. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to apply complex policies to ensure high-quality search experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in search engine operations, search quality evaluation, or internet-related businesses.
• Background in content moderation, trust & safety operations, or user feedback analysis.
• Active and frequent user of major social media platforms.
• Familiarity with online content ecosystems and digital consumer behavior.
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment with a 1-hour turnaround SLA.

Search Quality Evaluation

• Review, analyze, and categorize search-related issues and "bad cases" to identify opportunities for product and algorithm improvements.
• Evaluate search results against established quality standards and guidelines.

User Feedback Analysis

• Investigate user search behavior, requirements, and feedback through data analysis and direct user insights.
• Identify trends and recurring issues impacting search performance.

Optimization & Risk Assessment

• Provide actionable recommendations to improve search relevance, accuracy, and user experience.
• Identify and escalate potential trust, safety, and content-related risks.

Policy Compliance

• Interpret and apply detailed evaluation policies and guidelines (approximately 20 pages) to daily assessment tasks.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in evaluation decisions.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in data labeling, content evaluation, quality assessment, or related operational functions.

Language Skills

• High proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Technical Competencies

• Demonstrated ability to navigate, troubleshoot, and effectively utilize internal tools and platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Industry & Cultural Awareness

• Solid understanding of internet trends, online user behavior, and digital ecosystems.
• Strong awareness of popular culture, current events, and social media trends.
