Job Summary

The Claims Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management of cargo claims, ensuring timely investigations, accurate liability assessments, and fair resolutions in accordance with contractual obligations, applicable regulations, and company procedures.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role manages a portfolio of cargo claims and collaborates closely with Operations, Customers, Carriers, Insurance Partners, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to drive efficient claim resolution while protecting the company’s financial interests and maintaining customer satisfaction.

The position supports global customers and requires coordination with internal and external stakeholders across multiple regions, ensuring consistent claim handling practices, effective communication, and compliance with corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned cargo claims from initial review through to final resolution.
• Assess claim validity and determine liability based on contractual terms and supporting documentation.
• Maintain proactive communication with operations, account managers, clients, and external stakeholders to drive claim resolution.
• Ensure all claim records are accurate, complete, and updated in internal systems.
• Initiate and manage subrogation processes against carriers or third parties when applicable.
• Prepare and issue settlement offers aligned with contractual liability and internal guidelines.
• Coordinate with Finance to process claim payments and ensure timely closure.
• Monitor claim progress to ensure deadlines and service levels are met.
• Prepare and deliver claims reports for customers and internal stakeholders, including analysis of trends and key issues.
• Identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement initiatives within the claims process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Admin, Law, International Business or related field
• Good English level (oral and writing)
• 5+ years of experience in claims handling, insurance or similar. Alternatively in supply chain, logistics, transportation will be appreciated
