Engineering Director

Manufacturing company located in Chihuahua is searching for an Engineering Director.

Responsibilities

• Managing overall engineering operations, defining strategic plans, and executing and tracking internal KPIs.
• Providing direction and leadership to engineering staff and acting as liaison between local engineering, corporate, and functional departments.
• Identifying and directing improvement efforts to achieve and exceed business performance goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
• Overseeing daily activities of plant technical staff: engineering, product transfers, new product introduction, laboratory technicians, and metrology.
• Planning engineering projects, labor estimates, NA Capex, and process excellence; responsible for tactical plans, quotes for new products, and capital and expense control.
• Researching new technology and equipment, establishing equipment requirements, preparing cost justifications, and requesting appropriate capital authorization.
• Managing basic documentation for process operation: flow diagrams, process instructions, PFMEA, routings, layout, time studies, and standard work elaboration.
• Supporting engineering leaders, engineers, and other members of the organization with technical and administrative knowledge.
• Ensuring optimal availability of plant equipment, facilities, and services to facilitate company operations, following applicable safety standards.
• Promoting Lean manufacturing techniques to continuously improve cycle times and process flows and reduce waste in all manufacturing and business processes.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Engineer degree; MBA is a plus.
• Green Belt in Six Sigma (Black Belt is a plus).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (95%).
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in a management position in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing.
• Strong experience with Lean tools: VSM, 5S, Standard Work, Continuous Flow, Kaizen events.
• Experience in CAPEX administration.
• Strong analytical problem‑solving techniques (8 steps, 8D, DMAIC).
• Project management skills.
• Leadership, strong coaching and organizational skills, and ability to organize and lead.
