The Infrastructure Intermediate Technology Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for assisting with LAN / WAN and help desk administration activities, including network maintenance, technical guidance, and security in coordination with the Technology Infrastructure team. The overall objective is to use infrastructure technology knowledge and identified policies to process data, resolve issues and execute administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Resolve moderately complex problems/projects through analysis, technical experience, and precedents; provide analysis for more complex issues, escalating as appropriate
• Participate in testing activities, including the creation and execution of basic test scripts and evaluating results for possible enhancements
• Complete control activities (risk, self-assessment, COB, audit, etc.) and makes recommendations for enhancements
• Collect and organize requirements for hardware acquisition and deployment activities
• Gather, compile and synthesize information regarding technology processes or systems; create and prepare reports
• Assist in systems implementation/enhancements and post implementation activities
• Reach solutions through technical experience and precedents
• Exchange ideas and information in a concise and clear manner
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in a Technology Infrastructure role (education/professional) with demonstrated knowledge of operational process change and improvement
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work with virtual and in-person teams, and work under pressure or to a deadline

Job Purpose:

This is an infrastructure position within the Site Management discipline. Career path includes advancement to management position within the Site Management structure and/or access to management position within other technical support areas, systems development, or team leadership.

Job Background/context:

Technology Infrastructure (TI) is responsible for providing technical support and delivery to internal Banamex businesses on a local basis with global teams interaction.

DCO Site Management is responsible for managing, tracking and coordinating all activity within the data center facilities on a 24 x 7 basis. Management of all business-as-usual activity (BAU), project activity, including all hardware installs, upgrades, and break/fix trouble related activity. Responsible for managing and controlling all the data center floor activity relative to the acceptance, placement, and installation of hardware on the processing floor. Manage and control the interface with Security and Investigation Services (SIS) for management decisions related to processing floor access.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively participates on new projects and initiatives, in the equipment distribution design in computer and telco rooms and manage CMDB records for all devices installed at the Data Center.
• Design, install, de-installing, relocate all distributed systems, network devices, structured cabling, carrier circuits and all Data Center devices (servers, enclosures, standalone, routers, switches, encryptors, firewalls, etc.) following the standards, policies and processes pursuing high levels of excellence
• Maintain the integrity of the data center facilities, systems, and communications environments through general housekeeping practices, walk-throughs, and best operations practices.
• Provide hands-on, break/fix, level 1&2 tech support for the data center systems and communications environments on a 7x24 basis, escorting for vendors visiting the DC for troubleshooting activities
• Provide clear and detailed turnover to next shift workers for continuity.
• Manage the physical handling and movement of tapes and disks, record them in the appropriate systems and document as necessary, assuring the data protection practices are applied. Participate in all media reconciliation and Quality Assurance efforts.
• Monitoring of tape related console messages, working with the command center and the on-site hardware teams, responding when necessary.
• Replacing any damaged media with approved tickets.
• Assistance when required to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained and reply all emails from different internal clients, asking for support, guidance, break-fix, requirements, etc.
• Performs random audit checks and sampling, following all global procedures and provide input when appropriate
• Validation and follow up of tickets in the Change Management Tool.

Knowledge/Experience:

• Basic knowledge on server architecture and basic configuration
• Basic knowledge on storage technologies (NAS, SAN, ScaleIO)
• Basic knowledge on networking and communication architectures (i.e. spine & leaf)
• Basic knowledge on structured cabling
• Medium knowledge of Office tools
• Demonstrate logical and technical problem-solving skills and techniques
• Desirable experience in data center systems and facilities, and/or telecommunications and Operations and Technology areas
• Desirable knowledge of Information Technologies best-practices and methodologies (i.e. ITIL)
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting server hardware and networking communications
• Experience performing component and device replacements on IT equipment

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, or Higher Degree in computer systems or informatics and equivalent experience. Experience in Data Center environment is a plus.
• English (20%-50%), it’s necessary to be able to keep a fluid conversation for interaction with Global Teams, such as: Project Managers, System Administrators, and Data Center Partners
• Ability to lift/move 25 kg of equipment and work with other people and tools for heavier components, to exert yourself physically over extended periods of time, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and lifting
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including working during the day/nights, weekends, holidays and on shift-based schedule as required
