Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

The objective is to lead and oversee balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger operations for a mid-sized accounting team, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting while strengthening controls, improving process efficiency, and supporting effective close and reporting activities. The role requires excellent stakeholder management skills and a drive for process enhancements.

• Lead and review balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of open items.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account analysis, subledger-to-general ledger tie-outs, and month-end close support.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, setting priorities, quality expectations, and development plans.
• Identify and resolve complex accounting variances, aged reconciling items, and process issues.
• Coordinate account lifecycle management (ALM) across account setup, maintenance, review, and closure, ensuring accurate processing, documentation, approvals, issue resolution, and coordination with finance operations and technology stakeholders.
• Strengthen accounting controls, documentation, and compliance with internal policies and audit requirements.
• Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across Record to Report (RTR) and Account Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes, prioritizing opportunities based on risk, value, and feasibility.
• Lead audit readiness and coordinate internal and external audit support by ensuring schedules, reconciliations, explanations, and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
• Facilitate cross-member firm governance forums to promote alignment on process standards, surface issues early, share leading practices, and coordinate timely resolution of dependencies across Deloitte member firms.
• Partner with senior management on process strategy and identify opportunities to enhance capabilities, improve service delivery, and expand process scope within record to report (RTR) and asset lifecycle management (ALM).
• Manage day-to-day people for leadership activities, including workload allocation, priority setting, coaching, performance feedback, and coordination of staffing and coverage needs.

Qualifications

Required

• Completion of course of study/Egresado in any pertinent field or industry.
• Advanced English level.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts reconciliation processes.
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel.
• Proactive with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to conduct extensive research and reach accurate conclusions in ambiguous data scenarios.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the Queretaro Office.

Preferred

• Working knowledge of BlackLine Reconciliation and SAP S/4HANA preferred.
