SCM Project Manager - Cost Outs & Transitions

Overview

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a SCM Project Manager - Cost Outs & Transitions. This role leads supply chain management projects such as cost out, resiliency, continuity, and localization within Mobility Group North America. The Project Manager serves as the primary conduit between the business units supported and the SCM organization, coordinating with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and cross-functional teams to meet project timing, cost, and quality requirements. The role manages tactical implementation of strategic initiatives and tracks key metrics in the global supplier cost out database.

Responsibilities

• Manage SCM deliverables and collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure successful execution of Mobility SCM Cost Out and Transition projects, including timing, cost, and quality deliverables.
• Oversee and track timely execution of supplier tooling kickoffs, development, PPAP, and other launch deliverables.
• Build and manage costed BOMs with Commodity/Category Managers and strategic suppliers, including component and tooling costs, lead times, and capacity analysis for key projects.
• Represent SCM and participate in supplier APQP activities within project scope.
• Represent and lead SCM function in PROLaunch and gate reviews where applicable.
• Identify and solve roadblocks and risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate as required; communicate risks to avoid impact on deliverables.
• Collaborate with SCM Program Management and Engineering to understand current BOM costs, designs, specifications, manufacturing processes, and market drivers.
• Support selection of components manufacturing type, processes, and raw materials with Commodity Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering; coordinate with commodity teams to align strategies with plans.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, or related field. PMP preferred.
• Experience: 4+ years in supply chain management, program management, plant operations, engineering, or related strategic roles.
• Technical knowledge: Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read engineering prints, interpret financial metrics, understand markets and product service. Proficiency with Oracle, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Supplier Vis, Power BI.
