T Visa Department Lead – Leading Immigration Law Firm

A leading immigration law firm, located in Polanco is looking for an experienced T Visa Department Lead to manage and develop its T Visa department.

This role requires someone with expert-level knowledge of T Visa cases, strong experience conducting and overseeing client interviews, and the leadership ability to manage a team, workflow, and department pipeline.

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who understands T Visa requirements in depth and knows how to guide a team through the process of identifying, developing, and preparing strong potential cases for attorney review.

This is a leadership role. It is not an entry-level position.

The ideal candidate is FULLY FLUENT AND BILINGUAL in English and Spanish

Position Details

Role: T Visa Department Lead

Location: In office

Schedule: 6 days per week

Salary: 40,000–50,000 MXN NET per month, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the T Visa department, ensuring the team works efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with firm standards.

Oversee the scheduling of T Visa interviews, making sure interviews are properly assigned, confirmed, completed on time, and followed up correctly.

Manage the department pipeline and workflow from initial case review through interview completion and attorney handoff.

Ensure all T Visa interviews are conducted thoroughly, sensitively, and with a clear understanding of the legal requirements involved.

Train, guide, and support team members involved in T Visa interviews, case preparation, and client communication.

Review interview quality, notes, summaries, and case information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and legal relevance.

Identify missing information, inconsistencies, red flags, and areas that require further clarification before attorney review.

Conduct complex or high-priority client interviews when needed.

Help the team understand how to identify facts related to trafficking, coercion, fraud, force, exploitation, threats, debt bondage, work abuse, immigration history, criminal history, family background, and other relevant case elements.

Work closely with attorneys, case managers, intake teams, and leadership to ensure the department is running smoothly and cases are moving forward in a timely manner.

Monitor deadlines, interview volume, staff performance, and department productivity.

Create structure, accountability, and consistency within the department.

Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling highly sensitive client information.

Required Experience

Expert knowledge of T Visa requirements and the type of information, testimony, and evidence needed to support a potential case.

Strong experience conducting T Visa interviews or humanitarian immigration interviews.

Experience working with victims of trafficking, exploitation, coercion, abuse, labor abuse, or related circumstances.

Previous leadership, supervisory, or department management experience.

Ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, follow up, and hold people accountable.

Strong understanding of workflow management, scheduling, pipeline tracking, and operational organization.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and team members.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

High emotional intelligence, discretion, empathy, and professionalism.

Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced legal environment.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to see both the legal and operational picture.
