Value Stream Production Planner (Hermosillo)

We are looking for a Value Stream Production Planner to support our manufacturing growth and help us strengthen the way we plan, execute, and improve our production flow. This role is idóneo for someone who enjoys working close to the shop floor, using data to make better decisions, challenging the status quo, and helping value stream teams define the best strategy to meet customer demand. This is more than a traditional scheduling role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production plans for assigned value streams.
• Build and manage a rolling 3 to 6-month production and capacity plan.
• Translate customer demand, forecast, backlog, and priorities into realistic production plans.
• Support the Value Stream Manager in defining the best strategy to answer customer needs.
• Align production plans with material availability, labor, capacity, equipment constraints, engineering readiness, and quality requirements.
• Identify future capacity constraints, bottlenecks, material risks, labor gaps, and operational roadblocks.
• Build planning scenarios to support decisions related to overtime, shifts, line loading, manpower, inventory strategy, production leveling, ramp-ups, and recovery plans.
• Coordinate actions with procurement, engineering, quality, logistics, maintenance, production, and customer service to deliver the rolling 3-month plan.
• Support daily, weekly, and monthly planning routines.
• Prepare and present monthly planning updates to management, including capacity constraints, risks, roadblocks, actions, and required decisions.
• Use advanced planning tools, ERP, Excel, PowerBI, or other analytics platforms to improve visibility and planning accuracy.
• Develop dashboards and reports to track schedule adherence, backlog, capacity, material readiness, plan stability, and customer risks.
• Challenge current planning assumptions and propose improvements.
• Support EMS growth by adapting planning processes to high‑mix production, NPI, customer‑specific requirements, demand changes, and material complexity.

Qualifications

• 1‑3 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, materials planning, supply planning, or similar roles.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, material availability, and scheduling logic.
• Ability to develop medium‑term production plans, preferably in a rolling 3 to 6‑month horizon.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with PowerBI, Power Query, SQL, Python, APS, or advanced planning tools is a strong plus.
• Ability to identify constraints and coordinate actions across different departments.
• Strong communication, follow‑up, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to present risks, scenarios, and recommendations to management.
• English communication skills.

Preferred Background

• Experience in EMS, electronics, automotive, aerospace, or high‑mix manufacturing.
• Experience working in a value stream organization.
• Experience using PowerBI and Advanced Excel (Macros).
• Experience with S&OP; *, S&OE;**, finite capacity planning, scenario planning, or tactical production planning.
• Experience supporting NPI, production transfers, ramp‑ups, or customer‑driven manufacturing environments.
• Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Engineering, or related degree.

S&OP; means Sales & Operations Planning. It is the medium‑term planning process, normally looking at 3 to 18 months. S&OE; means Sales & Operations Execution. It is the short‑term execution process, normally looking at 0 to 13 weeks, often with a strong focus on the next 1 to 4 weeks.
