Junior Safety Engineer - Edificio Corporativo (Guadalajara) (Puerto Vallarta)

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the safety management system; inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and Mexican government regulations.
• Monitor and control the company's safety standards in the workplace in accordance with applicable regulations such as Mexico NOM, STPS, state regulations, and building codes.
• Lead and motivate staff on safety matters, ensuring they understand and apply safety requirements, practices, and procedures.
• Ensure all staff understand basic safety and health requirements to comply with regulatory safety and health law and SSOE best safety management practices.
• Develop a daily, weekly, and monthly reporting system to executive management and Board personnel regarding injury experience, job incidents, safety training, status of safety objectives, and overall safety performance.
• Assist Human Resources in developing a method to score and evaluate the safety performance of SBUs and Construction Managers.
• Develop a Safety Alert process to communicate important safety and health information throughout the organization.
• Inspect office fire safety, safety equipment, and building facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct EH&S orientation and other specific EH&S training as needed.
• Conduct accident investigations, audits, and report status and causes of accident, establishing preventive measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Three to five (3–5) years of practical experience in related roles.
• Knowledge and experience with NOM 030, NOM 019, NOM 001, and related HSE regulations.
• Preferred experience with corporate buildings or industrial environments.
• Advanced English proficiency.
