Salary Range:

• MXN: 1,393,593.20 to 2,090,389.80 annually
• USD: $78,000 to $117,000 annually

The Head of Modern Trade & Marketplaces will lead the strategy and execution across our key modern trade accounts in Mexico, with a primary focus on Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Costco. This role is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening customer partnerships, and ensuring excellence in execution across all commercial levers.

This position requires a commercially driven leader who can operate both strategically and hands-on, working cross-functionally to deliver measurable business outcomes in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Modern Trade Growth Strategy

• Lead the commercial strategy and execution for key accounts, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Costco, to drive revenue growth, expand distribution, and strengthen market presence across priority brands and categories.
• Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders, positioning Sazerac as a preferred partner and identifying long-term growth opportunities.

Execution Excellence

• Ensure consistent execution across assortment planning, pricing strategies, promotional calendars, and in-store visibility initiatives, aligned with Perfect Store standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Trade Marketing, and Distributor teams to align commercial plans with broader business objectives and ensure effective execution.

Data-Driven Decision Making

• Leverage customer and market data to identify growth opportunities, optimize performance, and continuously improve commercial outcomes.

Requirements

Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable)

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Administration, Finance, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in Commercial, Key Account Management, or Modern Trade roles within FMCG, Spirits, Beverage, or Consumer Goods industries
• Proven experience managing national Modern Trade accounts, preferably Walmart, Sam’s Club, and/or Costco
• Strong commercial and negotiation experience with ownership of revenue growth and customer performance
• Advanced analytical skills, including experience with reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking
• Experience leading Joint Business Planning processes and promotional strategies
• Strong financial acumen, including management of trade investments and commercial performance
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional, or matrix environments
• Advanced English proficiency (B2-C1)
• Experience within alcoholic beverages, spirits, or regulated consumer goods categories
• Experience working with distributors and complex commercial structures
• Exposure to revenue growth management, category management, and Perfect Store execution models
• MBA or postgraduate studies in Business or Commercial Management ( Nice to have)
