Buyer - BOM

Under the umbrella of Spanish automotive supplier Gestamp, Edscha services virtually every automaker with its products and know-how from 23 world locations with some 6,300 employees.

We are seeking a highly driven BOM Buyer with strong analytical skills and a solid background in automotive manufacturing. This role is responsible for managing Bill of Materials purchasing activities, ensuring cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and on‑time availability of components for production.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update Bill of Materials, ensuring accuracy and alignment with engineering changes.
• Lead cost negotiations, secure competitive pricing, and manage supplier contracts.
• Evaluate cost structures, identify savings opportunities, and support budgeting activities.
• Develop sourcing plans aligned with programming timelines and quality requirements.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Program Management to support launches and continuous improvement.
• Monitor delivery, quality, and service metrics; drive corrective actions when needed.
• Manage engineering changes (ECOs), ensuring timely implementation and cost impact control.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of BOM structures, cost breakdowns, and manufacturing processes.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
