Sourcing and Procurement Lead - Latam (Ramos Arizpe)

This role is located at our new manufacturing plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. Under the direction of the Director of International Sourcing and Supply Chain and in coordination with the integral sourcing leads, the Sourcing and Procurement Lead LATAM will develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies to meet the growing needs of a regional supply base for the materials and packaging used in Mexico. The candidate will establish and maintain a supply base that meets or exceeds expectations of quality and quantity to the economic advantage of the company. Responsibilities include analyzing daily raw materials and packaging requirements using QAD MRP, preparing purchase orders, and following up their execution with suppliers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and execute regional sourcing and procurement strategies to meet the plant’s requirements for all materials needed.
• Develop profound knowledge of the LATAM market for polymers and polymer additives; analyze requirements that impact competitiveness, availability, and delivered cost of raw materials; maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and industry changes.
• Understand technical and commercial requirements of the LATAM business unit and develop sourcing strategies that yield an optimal cost position for SACO AEI Polymers; ensure material specifications are shared and met by suppliers.
• Meet and negotiate contracts with local suppliers to secure the best economic position through pricing, payment terms, quality, and delivery.
• Analyze daily material and packaging requirements using QAD MRP reports; create and submit purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery of all materials.
• Manage ongoing supplier relationships and maintain appropriate records for supplier evaluation.
• Negotiate resolution of disputes, changes in scope, and material price changes.
• Maintain material, pricing, and vendor databases to ensure current and accurate information in the ERP system.
• Meet with vendors/suppliers to discuss products, potential new items, delivery, and quality; conduct technical and quality system audits when needed.

What You Need To Succeed

• Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office and ERP software, preferably QAD.
• At least a bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, or chemical engineering; MBA and/or professional certification is a plus.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant strategic procurement experience.
• Knowledge of basic chemical manufacturing processes and the major factors influencing the markets and prices for major materials.
• Strong communication skills in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
• Solid market knowledge and the ability to quickly become recognized as knowledgeable in supply markets for polymers and related chemicals.
• Ability to professionally represent SACO AEI Polymers and position the company as an attractive partner for potential new suppliers.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with individuals at all levels.
• Strong organizational skills: ability to organize diverse information, analyze and resolve disputes, understand internal customer requirements, make independent decisions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to develop and deliver persuasive arguments in pricing and contract negotiations.
• Technical acumen: ability to lead scientific and quality assessments of potential supply sources to ensure product compliance with company requirements.
• Attention to detail: maintain data records in the ERP system, prepare contracts and purchase orders, and track flawless execution.
• Adept at influencing and persuading individuals at all levels of SACO AEI Polymers and supplier organizations to gain support for key procurement initiatives.
• Ability to work professionally and effectively with Senior Managers in direct support of their objectives.
