Email Designer ($2K-$3K USD)

Our client is a fast-growing DTC pet brand with hundreds of thousands of customers across North America, and scaling fast. They're building out their retention engine and need an email designer who can ship high-volume, conversion-ready email creative without sacrificing quality.

This is not a brand design role. Pretty doesn't always convert: the right combination of offer framing, layout, and visual hierarchy does. You'll be producing revenue-driving campaigns and flows, fast, clean, and built to perform in the inbox, not on Dribbble.

What You'll Do

• Design high-volume email creative : promotional campaigns, product launches, and lifecycle flows (welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, winback)
• Execute quickly and accurately from briefs provided by the retention strategist. A winning campaign needs 5 variants, not 5 days
• Design mobile-first, modular layouts that hold up at 600px and in dark mode: fast-loading, live text where it matters, no broken renders
• Build direct-response email structures : hero offer blocks, benefit callouts, before/afters, testimonial and UGC sections, urgency/offer emails, plain-text-style sends
• Produce rapid A/B variants (hero, layout, CTA placement) and iterate based on performance data: clicks and revenue per send, not opens
• Use AI tools (Midjourney, Firefly, etc.) to scale output without dropping quality
• Deliver production-ready, organized files : sliced, compressed, and ready to build in Klaviyo

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years designing email for DTC/ecom brands : campaign and flow work, not brand, print, or editorial
• A portfolio that shows revenue-oriented email work : sends that drove clicks and orders, not just pretty layouts
• Expert-level Figma + Photoshop
• Strong grasp of email-specific constraints : mobile-first hierarchy, dark mode behavior, image weight, live text vs. image text, rendering quirks across clients
• Klaviyo fluency : you know what's buildable and design accordingly
• Speed and volume : you can tell us how many emails you ship per week without flinching
• AI-native : generative tools are already part of your daily workflow
• Able to work US business hours (strong overlap with US Eastern/Central)
• Self-directed : you move fast across briefs and campaign types without hand-holding

Who You're Not

• Your background is brand, print, or editorial design : beautiful work that was never built to convert
• You've never designed inside email's constraints and treat it like a web page
• You need detailed direction for every asset and can't move without it
• You're precious about volume : you'd rather make one perfect email than a full month's calendar of test-ready sends
• You measure your work in awards or aesthetics , not in revenue per send

Compensation & Setup

• $2,000–3,000 USD/month , based on experience
• Performance bonus tied to winning campaigns and flows
• Remote , anywhere in Latin America
• Long-term contractor role with room to grow as the retention engine scales
