Engineer Intern

The Engineering Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing operational efficiency, reducing waste, improving productivity, and enhancing process performance. Working closely with Lean, Operations, and Production teams, the intern will participate in data analysis, process evaluations, Kaizen events, and Lean projects within a manufacturing environment.

About your role:

• Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to eliminate waste and improve process efficiency.
• Participate in Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and problem-solving activities.
• Collect, analyze, and present operational data to support decision-making.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standard work instructions and process documentation.
• Support Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and process flow analysis activities.
• Help track and monitor Lean performance metrics and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
• Assist in workplace organization initiatives using 5S methodology.
• Support projects focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.

About you:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Availability to complete an internship for at least 6 months.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience with data analysis and process improvement projects through coursework or academic projects.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Minitab, or similar analytical tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.
