Benefits Analyst

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for US & Canada leave programs, including FMLA, state leave laws such as CA & MN PFL, ADA, and other company-specific policies.
• Track leave requests, approvals, extensions, intermittent leave use, and return-to-work dates.
• Maintain accurate records in HR systems and use reporting tools effectively.
• Coordinate required notices, certifications, forms, and deadlines to meet federal, state, and internal requirements for leave reporting, payment, and workers compensation program.
• Manage leave cases from intake through return-to-work with consistency, timeliness, and attention to detail.
• Support the interactive process for accommodation‑related leave cases and transition employees back to work when appropriate.
• Escalate complex, disputed, or high‑risk cases and partner with legal, benefits, and employee relations teams as needed.
• Provide responsive, supportive, and empathetic service to employees and managers throughout the leave process.
• Demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, and company leave laws and apply them accurately to employee cases.
• Identify opportunities to improve leave workflows, documentation, communication, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge.
• Knowledge of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, and 401(k) plans in addition to absence management programs and policies.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Respond timely to requests for service and assistance.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with employees, managers, HR partners, payroll, and external vendors.
• Handle sensitive medical and personal information appropriately and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Work as part of a team and meet strict deadlines.
• Experience working in large companies (5,000+ employees).
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
