Alternative Investment Operation Specialist

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

As a Consultant at Deloitte, you will work within an engagement team and be responsible for supporting the overall project goals and objectives. In this role, you will interact with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. It is expected that you will be able to perform independent tasks as well as provide technical guidance to team members, as needed.

The Alternative Investment Operation Specialist provides operational support for a client's alternative investment platform, covering the end-to-end lifecycle of private market investments — including private credit, direct lending, preferred equity, fund-level financings, and other complex or bespoke alternative structures. The ideal candidate is comfortable reading and interpreting deal documentation to extract operational mechanics, engaging directly with client stakeholders, and providing day-to-day oversight of outsourced and offshore service providers who perform elements of settlement, reconciliation, and document processing on the client's behalf.

Qualifications

Required

• 3-5+ years of consulting and/or industry experience.
• Completion of course of study/ Egresado in Computer Science/IT/Computer Engineering, or any pertinent field or industry, or equivalent years of experience.
• Responsible for supporting and independently completing project tasks.
• Advanced English level.
• Experience in alternative investments operations (private credit, direct lending, private equity, real assets, or similar), specifically in investor/trade operations — not fund accounting or transfer agency alone.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal/deal documentation (credit agreements, term sheets, subscription agreements) and translate terms into operational actions.
• Strong knowledge of loan-based products, including term loans, revolvers, delayed draws, and privately originated debt/equity. Experience should encompass loan setup, interest calculations, amendments, restructuring, loan agency functions, and the loan settlement process, including complex deal structures and control/pledge agreements.
• Working knowledge of the trade lifecycle: settlement, funding, reconciliation, and exception/break management.
• Familiarity with private equity fund frameworks, covering the entire process from booking and settlement to accounting and post-settlement maintenance.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups); exposure to workflow/ticketing systems and basic SQL is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for direct stakeholder engagement.
• Working knowledge of AML/KYC and general regulatory/control requirements.
