Hse Engineer I (Mexicali)

Overview

As an HSE Engineer at Honeywell, you will foster a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, ensuring compliance and promoting sustainability. You will manage budgets, collaborate to mitigate hazards, and report directly to our Senior HSE Manager. The position is located in Mexicali, BC and requires an on‑site work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to mitigate potential hazards.
• Develop and implement safety training programs to promote a culture of safety.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into business processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Hygiene, or Environmental Management.
• Professional experience in safety, hygiene, or environmental roles.
• Proficiency in Spanish and intermediate conversational English.
• Knowledge of legal safety regulations and ability to prepare reports for authorities.
• Strong skills in data analysis and risk assessment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to guide and influence employees in Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental matters.
• Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing preventive measures.
• Calmness and composure during emergency situations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams.

• Professional experience in safety, hygiene, and environmental roles.
• Knowledge of legal regulations regarding safety, health, and environment.
• Ability to prepare requests and reports for authorities.
• Strong data and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
