Labor Counsel

We are looking for a Labor Counsel to join our team.

The Labor Counsel is responsible for providing legal guidance on labor and employment matters, ensuring compliance with applicable labor legislation, and supporting the organization in managing employment-related risks. The role represents the company before labor authorities, oversees labor litigation, supports labor inspections, and partners with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with employment regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on labor and employment matters in accordance with applicable legislation.
• Manage labor litigation and coordinate legal strategies with external counsel when required.
• Represent the company before labor authorities and administrative bodies.
• Oversee labor inspections and coordinate the preparation of required documentation and responses.
• Provide legal support regarding specialized services, outsourcing regulations, and subcontracting compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related legal documents, policies, and agreements.
• Support internal stakeholders in employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and employment terminations.
• Assess legal risks and recommend practical solutions to minimize labor-related exposure.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting labor and employment law.
• Coordinate with external law firms and monitor the quality and effectiveness of legal services provided.
• Promote compliance with internal policies and applicable labor regulations.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Law. Admission to practice law in Mexico is required.

Experience

• Extensive experience in labor and employment law, including litigation and regulatory compliance.
• Experience advising private-sector organizations on labor matters.
• Experience managing labor litigation and interacting with labor authorities.
• Experience coordinating and supervising external law firms is preferred.
• Experience supporting labor inspections and employment compliance programs.
• Experience with specialized services and outsourcing regulations under Mexican labor legislation is preferred.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Mexican Federal Labor Law and related employment regulations.
• Knowledge of labor litigation procedures and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Understanding of labor inspections and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with outsourcing and specialized services regulations.
• Ability to draft and review employment-related legal documents and agreements.
• Knowledge of employment compliance programs and labor risk management.
