Senior Legal Counsel

What Labor and Employment contributes to Cardinal Health

Legal provides the company with strategic, proactive, practical and cost-effective legal advice and services in order to protect the organization's assets, operations and image. This function provides legal counsel related to commercial, corporate securities, intellectual property, labor and employment law, and regulatory law, among other areas. This function also litigates all company legal matters, manages outside counsel and manages legal operations.

Labor and Employment provides legal advice, counsel and services in the areas of labor and employment law. This job family partners with business leaders and Employee & Labor Relations professionals to identify potential legal issues and provides legal advice to mitigate employment and labor risks.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience, preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

• Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects
• Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
• Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models
• Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope
• Projects may have significant and long-term impact
• Provides solutions which may set precedent
• Independently determines method for completion of new projects
• Receives guidance on overall project objectives
• Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
