Manufacturing & Fulfillment Manager

Sola Wood Flowers is looking for an Operations Manager to join our fast-growing company.

As our Operations Manager, you own the day-to-day of both our manufacturing operations and our eCommerce fulfillment operations out of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, leading a team of roughly 100 people on-site.

A core, highly visible piece of what you run is our custom wedding-build operation, where our team handcrafts made-to-order bouquets and other bridal floral products. These orders are tied to real wedding dates, so throughput, quality, and on-time delivery are critical.

Experience in or around DTC and eCommerce is preferred but not required.

At Sola Wood Flowers, we are transforming what artificial flowers can be by providing better flowers for less with our affordable eco-friendly wooden flowers, and currently serve over 6% of American weddings annually.

Key Objectives:

• Run the day-to-day of manufacturing, BIFM custom builds, and eCommerce fulfillment as one tightly-managed operation, hitting daily output and ship targets consistently.
• Hit or exceed the KPIs set with the management team across throughput, on-time ship rate, quality, and cost per unit.
• Lead and develop a workforce of roughly 100 people, growing your front-line supervisor bench and the training programs that let the operation scale.
• Drive continuous process improvement through disciplined lean manufacturing and kaizen, removing waste and lifting efficiency across both the line and the fulfillment floor.
• Run the operation on data pulled from our ERP and WMS, using it to allocate labor, protect on-time delivery, and control cost.
• Own the related HR and administrative load that comes with leading a roughly 100-person on-site workforce.

Requirements:

• Experience directly managing a workforce of roughly 75 to 100-plus people
• Strong, hands-on familiarity with lean manufacturing and kaizen
• Comfortable operating in ERPs, WMS, and the other software the business runs on
• Able to work on-site daily in Monterrey (Finsa Guadalupe)
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Willing to jump into any part of the business when it is what the operation needs
• Excellent with data, including Excel and Google Sheets and functions such as VLOOKUP
• Able to provide references
• Comfortable with a demanding pace and long hours

Examples of What You'll Be Doing:

• Setting and hitting daily production and ship targets across the manufacturing line and the eCommerce fulfillment floor, and course-correcting in real time when a number is at risk.
• Protecting quality and on-time delivery for every BIFM wedding order, since each one is made to order against a fixed wedding date and there is no second chance.
• Balancing bespoke, made-to-order custom builds against high-volume standard production and pick, pack, and ship, all inside one operation, and keeping both moving without one starving the other.
• Walking the floor to set the standard, coach front-line supervisors, and keep the team focused on that day's production and ship targets.
• Growing your supervisor bench and developing your best people into leaders so the operation can scale.
• Building and running training programs that get new hires productive quickly and hold standards on both standard assembly and custom BIFM builds.
• Running kaizen events and standing up process improvements that raise throughput and lower cost per unit without sacrificing quality.
• Pulling and reading ERP and WMS data daily to staff the line, balance the workload, and catch bottlenecks before they cost you a ship day.
• Tracking on-time ship rate, output, quality, and efficiency KPIs, and reporting against the targets you set with the management team.
• Feeding structured feedback to the product team on packaging, materials, and buildability based on what you see on the floor.
