Global Sourcing Manager (Monterrey)

Role Overview

The Global NPI Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the sourcing and procurement activities related to new product introductions on a global scale. This role involves working closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, product development, and supply chain, to ensure the timely and cost‑effective sourcing of materials and components for new products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy for new product introductions.
• Identify and qualify suppliers capable of meeting the quality, cost, and delivery requirements of NPI projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure early involvement in the product development process and secure commitment to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers for new product introductions. Assess supplier capabilities, capacity, quality systems, and financial stability. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Lead contract negotiations with suppliers for new product sourcing. Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to develop contractual agreements that protect the organization's interests.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align sourcing activities with NPI project timelines and requirements. Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels, manage lead times, and ensure seamless material availability for product launches.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to leverage global sourcing and achieve economies of scale.
• Identify and mitigate sourcing and supply chain risks associated with NPI projects. Develop contingency plans, assess supplier risk profiles, and collaborate with suppliers to proactively manage potential disruptions and ensure continuity of supply.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, product management, and operations, to understand requirements and align sourcing activities with NPI project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business, supply chain management, or engineering.
• Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on NPI projects in a global context.
• Strong knowledge of NPI sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies, with the ability to manage multiple NPI projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with integral sourcing dynamics, supplier qualification processes, and supply chain management principles.
• Understanding of technical requirements and quality standards in the context of new product introductions.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to align sourcing activities with NPI project objectives and overall business goals.
• Some knowledge of sourcing principles, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and cost optimization strategies.
• Familiarity with sourcing tools, technology platforms, and supply chain management systems.
• Fluent in English.
