About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Mexico. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong experience in accounting, tax compliance, and team leadership. You will play a key role in managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and delivering high-quality financial services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support accounting operations, including oversight of assigned accounting team members

Plan and prepare financial reports (e.g., Athos, ITS, Cash Flow)

Ensure timely execution of deliverables in accordance with quality standards

Prepare, review, and maintain accurate accounting records and financial statements

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and legal requirements

Prepare and review monthly and annual tax filings for clients and local authorities

Coordinate with external parties (e.g., translators, notaries) for regulatory procedures (RNIE, IMSS, SAT, etc.)

Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations

Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations

Process payroll and calculate related taxes (ISN, IMSS, Infonavit, Fonacot)

Prepare and submit tax returns to SAT (monthly and annual)

Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and timely service delivery

Provide guidance and clearly communicate accounting concepts to team members

Support additional tasks as required by management

Requirements

• Spanish (Native) and English (Basic)
• 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong knowledge of Mexican accounting and tax regulations
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax filings
• Experience with payroll processing and related tax calculations
