Purchasing Program Leader

Program Buyer Responsibilities

• Anticipate specific requirements for new programs – supplier technologies, geography, target costs – and ensure commodity panel strategy supports the program.
• Identify and consult suppliers from the agreed panel, manage supplier RFQs, negotiate or collaborate with Commodity Buyers in supplier negotiations and final selection.
• Track program‑phase performance: manage suppliers, compare costs to objectives, ensure quality, respect delivery deadlines, and support program‑phase reviews within the Faurecia PMS framework.
• Engage Series Buyers early, before the series phase.
• Manage mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers.
• Negotiate Engineering Change Requests.
• Lead the global steering and sourcing committee meetings, optimizing purchasing assumptions globally, selecting options with the best landed cost and performance.

Candidate Profile and Competencies

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum X years of experience as a program buyer or program manager in an industrial environment.
• Experience working in an international environment.

• Understanding of product design, development and production launch processes.
• Knowledge of supplier cost structures.
• Understanding of purchasing commodity strategy.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills.
• Good planning, organization and project management skills.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization.
