Director, Partner Account Management

Job Summary

Directs a regional team of Managers in the recruitment, onboarding, and management of partner relationships (reseller, referral, agent, and strategic partners), focusing on leveraging Account Plans to drive enterprise market adoption of integrated Equinix/Partner solutions to achieve channel/company new bookings and enterprise new logo growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead partner recruitment, collaborating with Sales Leadership, Business Development, and Global Accounts to identify strategic alliance partners and define joint value propositions.
  • Direct engagement of partners and Equinix cross‑functional teams (Sales Engineers, Solutions Architects, Product Management) for technical positioning and bundled offer development.
  • Oversee go‑to‑market preparation and execution, including collateral, messaging, partner central, partner directory, sales training, and day‑2 support.
  • Establish Sales Rules of Engagement, onboarding plans, and communication agreements for sales pursuits.
  • Coordinate Channel Marketing and develop initial go‑to‑market and first‑deal strategies.
  • Lead pipeline development, sales targets, deal management, billing and ordering support, and QBRs.
  • Identify and engage initial sponsors within prospective partners and manage long‑term partner relationships.
  • Ensure executive sponsors are designated and aligned.
  • Drive partner development, raising awareness of the Equinix platform and enabling reseller activation.
  • Conduct business and pipeline reviews focusing on joint business planning, deal tagging, and funnel oversight.
  • Collaborate closely with Equinix Field Sales, Corporate Sales, Sales Engineering, Marketing, Customer Fulfillment, Sales Operations, Operations, and Data Center staff.
  • Approve marketing plans, targets, strategies, activities, and co‑marketing investments.
  • Educate strategic partners on engaging Equinix resources (GSA, SE, CSM) for quoting and ordering solutions.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional performance reviews covering sales, operations, and marketing per the partner plan.
  • Leverage executive sponsors’ communications and serve as the face of Partner Account Management at trade shows, newsletters, publications, and channel program press releases.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of proven success in channel sales for internet, network, data center, hyperscaler, or cloud‑based product/services providers.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Conversational English and Portuguese required.
  • Availability to live in Mexico City.
